Depending on the size, we can do one thing or another, but we can always leave much better with a few decorative elements. Stay to read, and we ‘ll tell you how to decorate a garden terrace.
No matter the size of our terrace, we can always leave it better than we found it. Just as there are varieties of plants for the office, there are also other types that are ideal for placing on the exterior of your house and make it look perfect.
Something we can cultivate in our terrace is straightforward aromatic plants.
We can buy them already in a pot in any gardening and DIY store or buy seeds and plant them at the appropriate time (usually in early spring).
Aromatic plants provide colors and scents to the terrace, and you can also use them for cooking. You do not need huge pots, so they are perfect for a small garden.
Some herbs that can easily thrive: basil, thyme, oregano, parsley or chives.
To decorate the terrace with aromatic plants, in addition to conventional pots, you can use recycled objects, both textiles and rigid to plant. If you have a free wall, you can hang hooks or place containers on wooden shelves.
Small urban garden
If you want to go a step further and cultivate something else, you can set up a small urban garden on your balcony. All depending on the size of this, but some plants do not need much room to grow and can be ideal.
Strawberries, cherry tomatoes, spinach, or radishes are perfect for a small urban garden. For this, you can use small pots or growing a bench with legs or on the ground if you have more space.
Do not forget flowers
When we decorate a terrace with plants, we can not ignore the flowers.
Most of the plants from which we discussed above are green, but we also have to pick some flowers for a touch of color to our terrace.
Geraniums are plants that reproduce and have flowers almost all year. Other herbs that you can plant in pots are hydrangeas, azaleas or asters. Succulent plants are also perfect to be in a cup on the outside, and when they grow tend to flourish.
Also, the flowering plants attract bees and ladybirds which are beneficial to the health of our plant’s insects, as the last feed on parasites that can kill them.
Combine plants with garden furniture
We have our full deck of plants and flowers in pots, hanging from the wall and a bench crop. Now we can relax and take a drink or a beer admiring our work.
To this place a garden table with two chairs, depending on the size of our terrace we can add more and will vary the size of the table. In the center, we can put a pot with flowers, and our garden is ready for us to enjoy.
Make sure you choose plants that are suitable for outdoor use, it is resistant to direct sunlight and inclement weather.
